Is Duck.ai safe for business data?

DuckDuckGo removes your IP address and other identifying details before sending chats to the AI companies it uses, and its agreements stop them from using your chats to improve their models and require deletion within 30 days.

Trains on your data by default?

No. DuckDuckGo says its agreements stop the AI companies it uses from using your prompts and answers to improve their models, and its terms let DuckDuckGo process your prompts only to give you answers.

How long chats are kept

On your device, unless you choose Sync & Backup. The AI companies must delete what they receive within 30 days, with limited exceptions for safety and the law. Synced chats are deleted after 18 months unused.

Who can read them

No one can tell it was you. DuckDuckGo removes your IP address before sending prompts, and if you use Sync & Backup, only your devices hold the key, so DuckDuckGo cannot read your chats.

Safer setup for a small team

Still keep customer names and details out of prompts, because what you type is passed to the AI company to answer.

Plan to approve: Duck.ai for general questions
Setting to check: No customer details in prompts

A line for your AI policy: Staff may use Duck.ai for general questions. Customer names and details stay out of prompts.
