Is Wispr Flow safe for business data?

Wispr Flow’s “Improve the model for everyone” and Dictation Cloud Storage settings start on, so dictation audio, transcripts, and edits may be used to train its models unless you turn them off; on Enterprise, training is off and cannot be turned on.

Trains on your data by default?

Yes, unless you turn it off. Wispr says the “Improve the model for everyone” switch starts on, letting it use your audio, transcripts, and edits to train its models. On Pro and Teams each member decides. Outside AI providers may not train on your data.

How long chats are kept

While Dictation Cloud Storage is on, which it is by default, Wispr keeps dictation transcripts, audio, and history on its servers. With it off, audio is deleted once transcribed.

How to turn training off

  1. In the Wispr Flow app, open Settings, then Data and Privacy, and turn off “Improve the model for everyone.” Source: wisprflow.ai
  2. In the same place, turn off Dictation Cloud Storage so dictation stays on the device. Audio is then discarded once transcribed. Source: wisprflow.ai

Safer setup for a small team

Turn off “Improve the model for everyone” and Dictation Cloud Storage for everyone, or use Enterprise, where training is locked off. Remember that dictation captures whatever people say, including customer details.

Plan to approve: Wispr Flow Enterprise, or Teams with every member opted out
Setting to check: “Improve the model for everyone” off, cloud storage off

A line for your AI policy: Staff use Wispr Flow with “Improve the model for everyone” and Dictation Cloud Storage turned off. Nobody dictates customer card numbers, passwords, or health details.
