Trains on your data by default?

Yes, in de-identified form, unless you opt out. Fathom says it may use de-identified data from your meetings to train its own AI models, and you can opt out in your account settings. It does not let outside companies, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, train on your data.

It depends on your settings. Admins decide whether users choose for themselves or whether external meeting recordings are visible to the user’s team or to all teams, and they can lock that choice. Each person’s View Access decides whose calls they can see.

Opt out of AI training in My Settings, or for everyone in Organization Settings on a Teams plan. When you share a recording, choose “Only people added can view.”

Plan to approve: Fathom Teams plan
Setting to check: AI training opt-out (My Settings or Organization Settings)

A line for your AI policy: Staff record calls with Fathom only through our company account, and only after everyone on the call has been told. AI training stays opted out for every user.
