Is Zoom AI Companion safe for business data?
Zoom says it does not use your meeting audio, video, chat, screen sharing, or attachments to train its own or outside AI models; the bigger question for a team is who receives the meeting summaries.

What it does with your data

| Trains on your data by default? | No. Zoom says it does not use your audio, video, chat, screen sharing, attachments, or other communications-like content to train Zoom’s or outside AI models. Read on October 23, 2026 · source: library.zoom.com |
| How long chats are kept | Zoom keeps content as long as needed for the uses in its Privacy Statement, unless the law requires longer. Admins can turn off and lock the meeting transcript setting, so no lasting transcript is kept for summaries. Read on October 23, 2026 · source: library.zoom.com |

Safer setup for a small team
Decide who gets meeting summaries before you turn them on. Admins can turn off and lock the meeting transcript setting so no lasting transcript is kept.

A line for your AI policy: Hosts turn on AI Companion meeting summaries only for internal meetings, or after every attendee has been told. Summaries with customer details are shared only with people who need them.
