How long chats are kept

Figma keeps personal information as long as it needs it to run the service, settle disputes, and meet legal duties; the length depends on the kind of information. When it no longer needs it, Figma deletes or anonymizes it, or isolates backup copies until they can be deleted.

How to turn training off

  1. As a team admin, open your team’s Admin settings, go to the AI section, and turn off Content training. Source: help.figma.com
  2. Move client drafts into a team where content training is off, since drafts follow the team’s setting. Source: figma.com

Safer setup for a small team

Have a team admin turn off Content training before anyone puts client work in Figma, or use an Organization or Enterprise plan.

Plan to approve: Figma team with Content training off, or Organization or Enterprise
Setting to check: Content training off (admin setting)

A line for your AI policy: Staff use Figma AI only in our company Figma team, with Content training turned off by an admin.
